Seiko Divers Watch

Seiko Diver Watches

Seiko ventured into diver watches after receiving request from a Professional Diver requesting to build a watch which can be purposefully used for Diving. Seiko took the challenge and build first Diving Watch famously known as 62MAS (automatic self dater) in 1965. With this watch new design philosophy of diver watches invented:
1. Bigger Crowns so that it can be operated while wearing gloves
2. Bold Markers and hands with luminous compound to see the time in dark when divers dive deep
3. Unidirectional Rotating Bezel

Seiko also developed first Titanium Case Diver watch with dual case construction which removes the need to have Helium Vale and registered 20 patents for the this invention. Today these case can be seen in Seiko Prospex series of Tuna Watches.

Seiko's Dedication and perfection gave birth to series of professional diving watches under Seiko Prospex Divers, Seiko 5 Automatic Divers, Seiko Kinetic Divers, Seiko Quartz Divers, Seiko Chronograph Divers.

Seiko also invented adjustable rubber straps we see today on famous SKX007, SKX009, SKX011 and SKX013 series watches, these are called accordion straps which expand and contract based on pressures and always hold watch secure to the wrist.
